1. Camp at Pacific Beach State Park

The Pacific Beach State Park is located right next to the water. You have the ocean on one side and downtown PB on the other. There are Pacific Beach vacation rentals nearby where you can stay, but it can be more fun to camp at the State Park. There are tent and RV campgrounds available, as well as a sandy beach that connects to the Park. There are picnic tables and day time parking. The beach stretches ¼ of a mile of ½ a mile from the campgrounds, depending on the tide.

2. Shopping

The boutique shopping district in PB offers great opportunities for finding choice items, designer brands, local products and a few unexpected surprises. The section of the district along Garnett Ave has some great electronic boutiques and surf equipment shops, as well as clothing lines by up-and-coming designers. You'll also find some great thrift stores, salons and tattoo parlors.

3. Take a Stroll on the Boardwalk

The boardwalk stretches for miles, connecting PB and Mission Beach. It's a picaresque boardwalk, with plenty to see. Rent a beach cruiser or bring your own bike and cycle down the path. It's also a great place to skate, rollerblade or simply stroll along.

Tourmaline Surf Park is in the North side of PB, just South of La Jolla, North of Crystal Pier. It is one of the prime surfing spots in PB, favored by locals. The parking lot at the end of Tourmaline Street is a spot where surfers, old and new gather to relax and tell surf stories.
